Exploring sculpting now I have some free time to reconsider my portfolio and work on polishing and improving some forgotten skills. Here are the bare beginnings of my journey into hardsurface modeling in z-brush.

I tried to start with very rough  sculpts on a basemesh, from these 8 quick sketches I started refining and defining some forms on 3 of them.
I think no.8 came out the most convincing sofar; it told me the most in terms of functionality and also character and underlying story. It needs one more pass of detailing and really defining the seperate elements before cutting it up, rebuilding and adding more details as I go…
