U ARE FIELDTEST
After 3 months of extensive testing we’re now selecting the most usefull spots, and creating and gathering content. There are a number of walls added to the ‘spots’. Barcelona has been built on and with rubble from previous versions of the city, dating back to early Roman times. This makes that the old city centre is a collage of different building styles and many walls are built from the debris. These make great markers to be recognized by the U ARE app! We’re able to create urban art, street art without ‘damaging the built cultural heritage’;
‘Non Destructive Urban Interventions’
It seems quiet, but there’s some crazy stuff being built right now and about to be released to the world! ‘U ARE’ is one of three PHONK / KEIMOTION pilotprojects. We’re developing an app with which Urban Art can be experienced in ‘Augmented Reality’. We’re now in beta-phase and creating content. The app will be released spring 2017 on IOS and Android.
Exploring sculpting now I have some free time to reconsider my portfolio and work on polishing and improving some forgotten skills. Here are the bare beginnings of my journey into hardsurface modeling in z-brush.
My designerfriend NEXPA asked me to help out a bit with another architectural presentation. I ended up lighting all the scenes and preparing composit. We had an enormous CAD file, which was the first challenge, plus not much renderpower, so I had to fake GI and use all the tricks in the book to have a more lively look and feel. This is a preview of our W.I.P. Final clip to be announced…
We scanned Matthew’s head…. The scan was low-res and broken on places (left ear), but that digital noise is something I prefer and like to work with. These are some early sculpts I did to find a form or workflow that would work for a greater amount of portraits.
Afterall I studied sculpture, but went digital pretty soon after. Now finally both worlds come a bit closer through digital sculpting which feels as natural as it gets. So I went back to basics and started doing some anatomy studies…
This idea is inspired by ‘Picasso et la Dance’ a dance performance by ‘Ballets Russe’ with costumes and decors designed by Pablo Picasso, and also inspired by ‘objets trouvé’, an idea first utilized also by Picasso, and later ‘perfected’ by Marcel Duchamp.
My first try for the 11 seconds club; a monthly contest dedicated to the art of character animation. I was a bit too late because a job came up and the client’s work have priority! But to exercise one of my strongest passions in 3d graphics; character animation this is a nice Test.
